Hydraulic Clutch Variable

Flow Control Valve

£127 inc shipping to mainland UK

When making a hard launch by slipping your left foot sideways off the clutch pedal, you are subjecting the drive train to a lot of shock stress as well as asking your tyres to cope with the sudden surge of power. Not good on either count.

An experienced racer once told me you need to release the clutch as quickly as possible slowly :-). This sounds silly but I liken it to the difference between an on/off light switch and a dimmer switch. With the on/off switch that is what you get, either on or off. With a dimmer switch the power can be ramped in as slowly or as fast as you like. However, no matter how fast you turn the knob the power will come in smoother than with the on/off switch.

If you could do the same thing when engaging the clutch a lot of the drivetrain stress would be removed as the clutch is allowed to slip ever so slightly thereby cushioning the shock. This has two advantages. It reduces drivetrain stresses and gives the tyres more chance to hook up, both good things.

This clever little adjustable valve allows you to do just that. Flow to the clutch slave cylinder is unrestricted. However, the flow away from the cylinder can be either unrestricted or controlled using the adjusting knob. By restricting the flow from the slave cylinder you are effectively slipping the clutch for a fraction of a second. Not only is this very difficult to do manually, it is even more difficult, in fact nigh on impossible, to do it consistantly.

With this valve, you can achieve consistant launches with the added advantage of driver adjustment (if positioned within arms reach) to compensate for the power available, local weather conditions, track temperature and track prep variables.

This isn't a new idea, as Subarus and Skylines have a similar valve but it is not adjustable and many racers remove them for this very reason.

Demon Tweeks sell a Tilton control valve for £179 plus shipping. This can be adjusted by changing the orifice size but there are only three options AND the unit has to be dismantled to change it so the clutch will require bleeding after each adjustment.

I am confident that there is no comparison,

I was concerned that by selling this valve at such a low price people would be put off. However, I couldn't justify a higher price (don't know how DT do) so will take the chance.

Titanium Nuts and Bolts

I can supply titanium nuts and bolts, in most sizes and in both imperial and metric threads. If required I can centre drill them to further reduce their weight.

Elan Adjustable Top Wishbones

£395 set of 4

Standard Elan wishbones are not adjustable, so any inaccuraces in the chassis geometry can't be adjusted out. Also, you can't adjust camber to your preferred angle. There are other adjustable wishbones on the market, but they have to be removed to be altered.

My wishbones are adjustable in-situ, meaning that initial set up and subsequent adjustments are easy to do.

Rod ends vary in price and quality and are often a personal preference item. However I supply rod ends that I believe are more than up for the task. For details see                              However, if you want to supply them yourself that is fine.
