My Workshop
Just in case you had the impression that I am working out of a plush workshop with all the mod cons and new equipment, I hope the following images dispell this notion.
The lathe, compressor, bead blaster, engine lift and 12 tonne press are new. The CNC Mill, guillotine, band saw and car lift are secondhand. I also have an old oven that was bought for powder coating but is now used to cure prepreg carbon fibre.
This car lift has been, by far, the best tool have have bought. It doesn't give you the lift a 2 or 4 post lift will give you but there isn't anything under the car so this is ideal and takes up no space.
A close second is this CNC mill. It has paid for itself (under £1000) already and is great fun to use. I have fitted a router to the side so I can engrave and also rout wood.
This lathe was bought new and has, like the mill, paid for itself. It's amazing how many things you can do that you didn't think of when buying it.
The guillotine isn't used very often but, like any tool, you are glad you have one when required.
A decent sized compressor. Every discerning workshop is incomplete without one.
A 12 tonne press. Like the guillotine, not used very often but a lifesaver when needed.
Bead/sand blaster. Great for cleaning stuff. However, I need to add a dust extraction unit!
Engine hoist. A rarely used tool that is worth its weight in steel and space.
Bandsaw. Set material to be cut, switch on and go and do something else.
